AVISH COTTAGE
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
On booking the Avish Cottage, guests agree to abide by the following conditions:
1. Arrival & Departure days. Bookings are for a minimum of three nights. Lettings commence at 4:00 pm and finish at 10:30 am. Please let us know what time we can expect you !
2. Delays. If you are unable to arrive on the day or time arranged, please notify us as soon as possible by telephone and/or email.
3. Booking form and deposit. A booking form will be sent to you by e-mail after you make a provisional booking by telephone or e-mail. A non-refundable deposit of £150 is payable on booking. Your provisional booking will be held for up to 7 days pending receipt of booking form and a deposit of £150. After 7 days, we reserve the right to unblock the bookings calendar and offer the property to others.
4. Confirmation. Your booking will be confirmed in writing or by e-mail on receipt of your booking form and deposit.
5. Balance. The balance of payment for the rental, along with a refundable “good housekeeping deposit” must be paid on the day you arrive.
6. Good Housekeeping Deposit. A good housekeeping deposit of £75.00 is payable on the day you arrive and will be refunded on the day you leave, provided the property is left as found and in a neat, clean and tidy condition.
8. Heating and use of electricity. Wood pellets and logs are provided free of charge and, in keeping with the eco-policy of the Avish, solar panels have been installed for heating water. Any excessive use of electricity for heating will be subject to an extra charge of 14 pence per unit.
9. Insurance. We strongly recommend that you take out appropriate travel insurance. The insurance should cover you if you have to cancel your holiday arrangements or if you incur any emergency or unforeseen expenses. The personal liability cover provided should also meet the cost of any damage or breakages incurred during your holiday period. It is advisable to take out a policy at the same time as booking to ensure adequate cover.
8. Cancellation. In the event of cancellation less than 8 weeks before your arrival, your deposit will only be refunded if you provide us with written proof of an acceptable reason for cancelling your stay.
9. Rights of Access. The owners reserve the right of entry to the accommodation at any time for service or repairs.
10. Loss of Accommodation. If, for whatever reason, the accommodation booked is not available, the deposit will be refunded. The liability of the owners will in no circumstances exceed the sum of the deposit paid.
11. Liability. The owners will not accept any liability for the person or property of any person using the property.
12. Damages, breakages or loss. During their stay, guests are responsible for any breakages or damage to the property, furnishings and fittings. All damages, breakages or losses must be notified to the owners and paid for.
13. Number of Guests and Purpose of Stay. The number of people occupying the property should not exceed the number stated on the booking form. We also reserve the right to refuse or cancel any booking which may, in our opinion, be incompatible with the ethos of the Avish Cottage or with the purpose of a holiday home.
14. Eco-policy. During their stay, guests are required to respect the environmental practices of energy conservation, recycling and composting and to use only the ecological cleaning products provided.
15. Smoking. Smoking is not allowed in any NITB-approved accommodation. If you smoke outside the cottage, please use the ashtrays provided.
16. Pets. With the exception of guide dogs, pets are not allowed in the cottage. Stabling and kennels can be provided in the Avish outhouses, provided sufficient notice is given to the owners.
