4* self-catering in the North West of Ireland
The Avish Cottage has been a quiet part of the Irish landscape for over 250 years. Set on a hillside in its own grounds and woodland and surrounded by dry-stone walls, it's secluded and relaxing and has wonderful views over the Foyle, the Sperrins and the hills of Inishowen.
The Avish is a real home from home, and we want all our guests to feel welcome there. It's ideal for families and friends, caters for groups of up to six and is a great touring base for the Causeway Coast and all of the North West, just a ten-minute drive from Derry.
Spacious and cosy, with a wood pellet stove in the kitchen and woodburners in all the other rooms, the restored cottage comprises not only the original 18th-century dwelling, but a converted dairy and barn. Traditional materials were used in the restoration, and the cottage has been decorated and furnished in an authentic Irish style. It's homely and comfortable, full of local crafts, woolly rugs and original artwork - and it's absolutely unique in the area.
